Ah! I see a great big hole in the online coverage … not to be plastic but there’s ain’t no model car section. Hey … go with me on this one. Most of us (my assumption, of course) can not afford to build a car every seven days like Mr. “get’r done!” Chip Foose. For myself, I build something 1:1 about every 12 to 15 years and play around between times building … model cars!
I like the kits of the early ‘60’s. I get them on eBay as “collector kits” … read that as “For heaven’s sake, don’t build it … it will lose value!” Phooie … I build the kit … so sue me! At least I can afford to build a more model cars then 1:1, and I bet there are others who would like to talk about model cars. What better place? Streetrodderweb, of course.

You may know this already, but a magazine called Scale Auto covers a lot of stuff relating to models of rods, muscle cars etc. and their website forum (scaleautomag.com) has a dedicated section for rods/customs/street machines. If you have a look you'll see a very dedicated community over there.
This is just my personal opinion but I think it might be something of a duplication to have scale rods in SR when Scale Auto covers them so well.

I hear you, and you are right about that. Scale Auto is a great mag, and I used to be one of their advertisers (www.eScaleCars.com) but that was then and now is now. My thoughts on discussing models here could be as tie-ins for the 1:1's we build and drive, e.g., using kits to tet out designs before building, or building a 1:1 based on a 1/24 model ... such as I did with Black Widow 2 based on the 1960 Monogram kit, The Black Widow.
