will a small block chevy v-8 bolt up to a 1948 chevy bellhousing? the 48 is a 216 cu-in. stick.

It's me, A few days ago I ask if anyone knew about putting small block chev. into a 48 chev. Ihad 27 lookers & NO answers I whats up?

Take the bellhousing out to the salvage yard, and tell them that you want to see if it will bolt up to a SBC. If it does bolt on, will the flywheel for that motor fit in the bellhousing, with a clutch attached? What are you putting this motor in? Maybe a 5-6-7 Chev bellhousing will work.Good luck

I'm pretty sure it won't, I have a 39 and I think it's to small. Try putting a tape to it and see. good luck...Keith
