Boyd really needs to get himself a new manager, I see why he has to get new guys all the time , I watch the show  every now and then < i can't believe the way he allows Duane to act towards co-workers , he will go and cry to Boyd when someone teases him , but he can then be the one starting it ....I just think he is rotten Boyed really needs to get someone else in charge and get rid a of duane.....Does Boyd watch his shows ? He would realize what a jerk Duane is to his co-workers and that hes the reason he goes thrue so many..

My guess is some of it is for show, BUT most probably. Ive heard Boyd isnt the easiest to work for but Im not there so I dont know.  

Correct-o-mondo!  I can't stand watching his show.  It could be so much better and represent the sport on more of a positive note but it's not. And for life of me I can not understand if shows are aird based on ratings who the heck would watch his painful blunders.

I did hear similar comments while attending the GNRS in Pomona earlier this year but I also heard that Boyd doesn't care.  The comment came from a guy in the know who also said that Boyd gest $75,000 per show.

I agree, I hope he is that way just because he has a camera in his face all day.  I just wish the show would involve more of the fab and building and less soap opera stuff!  

Well, as hard as te show can be to watch, you can't say that Boyd is doing to bad for himself. He has become even more of  a household name, people who can't tell the difference between a '32 ford and a '77 trans am know who he is, overall not bad for getting a well known name even further out there, much the same way Chip Foose has.  

I really think some of that is just for TV- if he really was as bad as we see, his shoddy work ethic or just plan jack a**ness would get him fired all on his own.  

I agree alittle,that guy looks like an *** on TV,but is he really like that in real life,same for Boyd,is it all just for TV,or real.  

Boyd has always been a Dick. I had a run-un with him in Detroit back ib 1986 and my opinion won't change.

TV has had effect on alot of car and bike people.
Look at Jimmie Shine now. Or the Teutal's, Jesse James.
Gene Winfield seems to be one of the few that no matter how many specials he's on he is always a constant. One hell of a car guy. he has forgotten more than Boyd will ever hope to know

Thank god others see it to i thought it was just me. My question is if do a search on Boyd you will find he is (or was) in big financial trouble, so maybe he don't care as long as he is getting paid!! My other though was Chip foose actually designed the Boydster 1 & 2 and they don't realy show who actually does the designing of the cars on the show (drawings, colors,mods,ect.) so what does Boyd do? I think he is just a MONEY man..  

YEP Boyd is an A** , afew years ago he was in York Pa , He pulled in to a handycapped parking and left ,a little while later some one who really needed it came by and couldn't use it as it was meant to be , luckly their was so people near by who let them park with them , it wasn't as close but it helped . As for his so called abilty with cars WHERE THE HELL IS IT ! The world is filled with BS artists and he is one of them ,  the people who do the work don't get the credit they deserve . I used to work for his brother FLOYD COBBINGTON

The "build" shows are pure drama.  I wish they'd actually show something about building a car rather than glorifying the soap opera atmosphere in the shop.  Somehow, I feel like I'm watching the same episode each time entitled, "(Insert builder name here) falls behind on his latest build and bullies his employees".
