Okay, I have read all the various rants about true suede black paint and Blitz Black. And I have to admit I am even more confused than before.

All I want to know is:
1. Is the paint easy to lay down? And doe it require a top coat?
2. Is it really a lasting suede look?
3. How well does it weather?
4. Finally if this stuff is really crap -what is an affordable (non-show) alternative?

I painted my harley with blitz black.  Good stuff!  

What kind of Harley do you have?  

I had an 02 sporty with all the buell top end.  i saw a guy get hit head on by a truck.  After that i pretty much quit riding, so i sold it and bought another vette.  Ill load some pics of it up on my blog.  i changed the tins on it more than i rode it. lol  

Any flat, satin, primer(s) are a undercoat.
They absorb moisture, unless topcoated.
If one wants a long lasting, flat or satin look, go the durable, cheap route, with flat ENAMEL paint!
The Tractor Supply Company  TSC (I always called that place the "Farmer's Orgasm") has it  for around $25 a gallon!  It can be reduced with just about any brand name reducer, but, the can sez to use their own.

John Deere stores sell a long lasting, durable, flack black enamel paint, for around $20 a agallon.
I figgure, any industrail supply place, will have several colors of flat enamel paints, under $30 a gallon.  

I believe the flat black John Deere sells your refering to is the blitz black we were talking about.  My bike sat in the weather for about a year and still looked great with the John Deere Blitz Black on it.  Not even any water spots.  

I painted my '55 Suburban with Blitz Black 2 years ago & it still looks great.  I bought it in Reno, NV, because the stuff in CA is $100 a gallon & NV was $28.
Instructions say to reduce 10% but it lays down a lot better with 20%.

I wonder why it costs so much more in CA? probably some stupid taxes for environmental reasons, sometimes I hate living in California    

Does TSC offer comparable paint to the JD blitz black or do they carry JD blitz black?  

Anybody know where exactly in Reno to pick up the blitz black paint?  Local (JD) dealers don't seem to carry it, like the look, can't seem to find the paint.  Tired of the run-a-round.  Help, my hotrod is naked without it.
