Hi!
I've got a -39 Hudson with a frame that isn't too good. (The car lacks identity as well)
I am therefore looking for a car with the same wheelbase (112") to acheve a new chassis where I can place the Hudsonbody.
Is there anyone who can give me some advise of cars with a frame, preferably earlier than -52, 4 door, with a V8, with the correct wheelbase?
Thanks!

Briefly scanning thru the 40's"car specs" section at www.carnut.co a 40 ford has 112" wheelbase. There might be one from earlier or later I didn't look. Finding one that is better than yours may be a challenge. A custom tube frame with modern suspension might be a better choice to get that just right stance and peace of mind from knowing you're cruising on steel that hasn't been fatigued for 60 years.
Any non Ford street rod should have no problem standing out.

I agree with Bigchief, you might be asking for more of a headache trying to wedge something underneath the body as opposed to having a custom suspension made that will fit perfectly.

Thank You both "ekimball" and "bigchief" for answering my question. I've already been thinking/dreamin' in those terms for example a frame from Fatman, Rodfactory or another maker, with a nice airridesystem. Problem is it costs about 6-8000$ and still haven’t got an identity/title. I'm trying to go a bit more lowbudget so to say... Another problem here in Sweden is to get it through the controlsystem. What I mean is that if I can find a complete car with engine, driveline, brakes and so on it's going to be a lot cheaper and easier. Well the change of bodies will take time of course but with the identityquestion I belive it will be worth the effort.
Many thanks again for your answers! I'll keep on serching!

Yeah I completely understand not wanting to spend that kind of money on a frame, lord knows I couldn't afford that. I'm sure you will be able to figure something out, because that's what Hot Rodding is all about, making the near impossible work! Good luck!

Also, I have a quick question. What's the Rodding scene like in Sweden?
