A sack of cold hard cash.

Just kidding, from what I understand the features are picked from car shows, and from word of mouth. I am not positive how it works, maybe one of the editors could chime in.

It's impossible to get in this magazine. My husband won 1st place at the Detroit Auto Rama 2008. In the Altered Rod Truck Class. In the new July issue, on page 53, they show a truck (who was 3rd place) as the  1st place winner. On page 56 they show the second place truck. no mention of our 34 pickup. They got the winner wrong , and no picture of my husbands 1st place truck. mind you he spent 5 years on it , by himself. So , NO you can't get in this magazine !! Am I mad and hurt , you bet !!

Mistakes can and do happen. Now, as far as being impossible to get in the magazine, that is plain and simply untrue.

I would send an email, with an image of your truck and the correction noted, and they might make the correction.

I know the editors wish they could get every nice rod seen at shows in the magazine, but it is not physically possible.

I have already sent some pics and a letter to the editor. We'll have to wait and see , how that goes.

Thanks for your input.

I would like to say, I have made a mistake regarding the class of truck we won in. I spoke to the promotor and he cleared things up. Don't want to make a big lengthy explanation. but I have already apologized to Street Rodders Editorial Director. I am horribly embarrased by this. It was an easy mistake. altered truck and altered pickup , our truck "is" a pickup. So , I'm sorry. And Kudo's to the guy on pg 53 for his pickup win. And Kudo's to my husband for his truck win.
Over and out,

Well that is embarrasing.

See mistakes can be made, like ekimball said!

your car needs to something different. If its a standard run of the mill 32 (and Im not saying it is or isnt) it wont grab the interest of a photog for a magazine. What makes your car different than the last 32 that was in a magazine? Something to think about...    before you go asking around about having it shot for an article.

The car has to shoot good resale - in other words- it could  be the most expenisve (or cheapest) car in the world, but if there isnt a market for pics or an article on it at this time, no one wants to see it.

The car either should have been done years and years ago and is still in pristine condition or recently done as well. A car that was painted and done 5 years ago- just wont push through for reader visibility. And if it was done recently, it needs to be using current products and methods.

Also- Ive been told that if you contact an editor about your ride, some of them just cross you off the list because they dont like to be hounded.

Maybe this magazine isnt the right choice for your ride either? Not sure...

Just giving advice here not criticizing in any way so please dont take offense. Good luck-.
