Hi I just signed up, and have a question about the suspension on my car I'm building. Its a '29 dodge three window coupe, being built with hand-me down parts. I was given a '42-'48 ford front end with the spring in front of the axle. Does anyone know if anybody makes a spring that I can use to mount the spring on top of the axle? If so what size do I need? Please help!!

Thanks

Derek, Call Posies. They provided me with a spring that mounts over my stock '40 axle and should be able to help you with your project. You may need to give them the measurements of your axle and you also will have to figure out perch bolts. I used an adjustable perch bolt available from Speedway Motors, Pete & Jakes, etc. just make sure it's long enough to clear the wishbone mounts. Of course, you'll want to hack off the stock spring mounts from the wishbones. Let me know how it goes!
