Street Rodder ran an article a couple issues back about using lead for bodywork. I was wondering if anyone had attempted leading themselves? I know we all can't be Bill Hines, but I wonder if leading is going the way of the Dodo Bird.

Did some lead work last year on the door posts of my '45, figured bondo would never hold up there and if I go ahead with a top chop this winter will do that in lead. Lead expands and contracts fairly close to the rate of sheet metal will bondo does not and if you live in an area of temperature extremes like I do (30 to 80's in one day) it tends to crack even if applied real thin.

Yeah it's nice to have as little Bondo as possible in a car.
