HOT ROD Builder NOT!

Ethan Conyers is NOT truthful when he states he built his 1929 Roadster Pickup. Why do so many novices take credit where they do NOT DESERVE credit?
Ethan Conyers did NOT built his 1929 roadster pickup. It is NOT a Brookville body. Bob Christenson @ Bpaws Garage, Lakewood, CO fabricated the frame, body, and assembled the rolling chassis. The Mile High Rodding community knows Ethan as the UNTRUTH!

That is one nice ride that Ethan has there. Let me tell you some facts about his body and car. I had met Bob Christensen back in March. In our conversation he said he has a "A" RPU body I might be able to get from him. The body he GAVE me is the prototype body for 5 other bodies that Bob built. He sold 4 of them and kept the last to build for himself. The only Boorkville part - is the gas tank cover or panel The rest was built be Bob at his shop in Lakewood, Co. The car that Ethan claims as his build was actually built by Bob. In our e-mails before I picked up the body he sent me pictures of Ethan's car as a completed but unfished RPU. Bob is the one that did all the fab work.

Hi Folks, If what I read in these blogs is in reality the truth then i must apologize. We editors are kinda at the mercy of what a car owner tells us and what is contained on the seven-page tech sheet we have them fill out. We're not detectives nor do we have the time to vet every tech sheet for truthfulness. We rely on the honesty and integrity of our fellow rodders to provide us with the facts we publish. Unfortunately some like to embellish and a very few fabricate. That said, in this instance I still have no real proof either way -- so if the facts printed are incorrect I'm sorry -- if not, I'm not. It's unfortunate when people are untruthful about who built a car, but mistakes can and will happen and it's almost impossible for them not to be made.

Bench raceing is part of our hobby, cars tend to get faster and build credits become as time passes.

I am truly sorry for Bob Christenson not getting full credit for building the rolling chassis and body of my 29 RPU. I did not intend for this to happen. A little miscommunication created some issues. Again I did not try to take credit where credit was not due to me. I know that I can't change what has already been published but I have never not given him credit for his portion of this build.

Gee Ethan, you make it sound like this sort of thing has never happened before...let's all ponder on that for a minute. I find it intresting you where the last to post. If you where truly concerned about setting the record straight wouldn't you have been the first to post giving Bob credit.
Glad to see the "little miscommunication" has been "corrected". Street Rodder, where are you? I understand you can't vet everything you get, however where's the journalism?

Wow, the guy apologizes for the mistake and you rip him apart for how timely his response is?

ekimball- it is my understanding that this is not the first time Ethan has neglected to give credit where credit is due.
I certainly do not feel that I "ripped him apart", I made valid points about his lack of respect for a craftsman. If Ethan feels he was ripped apart by my comments then so be it...He's man enough to make false claims he should be man enough to handle any negative feed back that may come his way. Let Ethan defend Ethan.

I agree with CarChick06 as Ethan supplied the false information to SR to begin with. Once he was caught he then tried to retract his statements. I have personally heard Ethan state he built his 29 RPU and never mention Mr. Christenson or BPAWS Garage.
The miscommunication was directly from Ethan himself to SR.
