Hi, I'm building a 1946 Chevy pickup street rod and have an air conditioning question. I'm using an LS1 out of a 2000 Camaro Z28 with a 4L60E trans. I planned on using the stock AC compressor and a Vintage Air evaporator unit. When I called Vintage Air they told me that I couldn't use the stock compressor because it's a variable displacement unit and their systems will only work with fixed displacement compressor. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you end up doing? I'd really like to use the stock compressor because I already have the engine mocked up in the frame which I had to clearance to clear the compressor. Thanks for your help.

I been building airs for many many yrs, never heard of this. I would try it if it did not work than change the compressor to a aftermarket one
