About 20 years ago, I bought a new in the crate SOHC 427 Ford engine for $1,100 and traded it off after a brief experience with it in a 1963 Ford Galaxy. Needless to say, I deeply regret having parted with it.

I wonder what it would be worth today, and also what other engines such as a 429 Ford Shotgun engine, a ZL-1 Chevy engine, and a 426 Hemi would be worth today if new in the crate.

Any thoughts?  Any others of you who regret having sold something for cheap in years past?
