I know that late 60's early 70's Nova subframes are typically used, but i found a 1975-77 nova parts car for a good price. My question is can that later year nova subframe be used for a 1940 Chevy Sedan.

I am sure this can be done look on road toads online I belive there is a car using this sub frame But I could be wrong. What I'm not sure is why you would want to use a sub frame if your frame is good motor mounts and mustang II crossmembers are cheep. Oringinal mustang components can be found and work well your original frame includes most all body mounts and radiator brakets. The use of original frame makes fabrication much easier in my opinion. For brake components on my 46 I used a Heidt's 11 brake kit. A master cylinder and booster as well as porportioning valve from a 78 oldsmobile all have made my car stop very well. I also used 80's mustang gas and brake pedals that were almost a direct fit into my 46 ford I would think all of this would work on your 40 Chevy.
