1956 Pontiac Frame off restoration

I have a 56 pontiac two door hard top. I believe it is a star chief. I recently bought a 1995 caprice police car with the ls1 motor. we are interested in using the frame (b body frame)and running gear from the caprice for the pontiac. Aside from the caprice frame being 7 inches too short I believe it would work with some modifications to the floor of the pontiac. Has anyone done this? Is there an A-body frame that would work better. I am considering using the front clip from another vehicle if it would be better. We want to combine 90's technology with the 50's look!
