I plan to install a 76/80 monza dual master cylinder in my 31 ford coupe with 4 wheel drum brakes. The front drum assembly is mid sixties GM and the rear is 9 in. Ford with 11 inch drums my question is,Will this set up work?do I need to do any modifications to the master cylinder? Should I use a proportioning valve?

I had a set of mazda disc in the front, mopar 11in.drum in the rear and mopar dual chamber master cylinder from a 1/2 ton dodge truck.and I ended up needing a proportioning valve .The system worked great. My advise would be to test the car in a safe place where you can lock up the brakes . Have a buddy watch to see if the front or the rear lock and not the other set. You dont want the rears to lock up first. If the rears are to agressive you will need to install a valve. This is how I did it and I was stoping a 2700 lb car from 127 mph on the drag strip. Just take your time. And be safe. My bet would be you will need a valve and test till you feel the car stops like you feel it should. Chuck
