Can I take the power steering pump off a  Ford PU and still use the same steering box? Or do I need to find a std. steering box? Please advise.

Generally you try and match the pumps, because there were different size pulleys for certain applications, actually the pulleys were the main difference.

Geez, I definitely read that the wrong way. You will have to find a manual box. It should just bolt straight in.I assume you just have one belt running the pump so if you remove it ,it doesn't affect anything else.

Thanks for that info, yes only one belt. Any idea on what years on models of autos or p/u I should be looking at for a std box.
I really do thank you for the help!!
