Straight axle headache

I have a 57' chevy pickup short bed. The front end is the original str. axle that I had dropped 6 inches. I have installed a power steering kit that takes a late model chevy pwr box on the outside of the frame. My problem lies in the steering geometry. With the truck lowered I changed the caster to compensate at 6 degree pos. the truck wanders at low speed but straightens out at higher speeds. other than the obvious toe in problem, can anyone recommend an approach to remedy this problem?
