Carburetors Outlawed-is it true?

I saw an article on another large car site stating that a law has just been passed to outlaw vehicles with carburetors regardless of age of vehicle.No vehicle with carburetor will be able to be driven on roads of united states.Even the ones that came with carburetors originally will not be allowed.Supposed to come into effect in 2012.Antique and classic cars will be allowed in parades only and nowhere else.Does anyone here know someone at SEMA who can give a yes or no to this law? Does it exist or not?thanks
