i just acquired at 1947 chevy Stylemaster Sport Coupe. the owner i got it off cut the top off of the car becasue i damage. should i look for another top to put on it or can i make it convertible? if i decide convertible where would i have to reinforce the body? its going to be a frame up restoration so i was wondering if it would be better to dip the body or soda blast it? what about the frame? i heard the dip removes alot of good metal along with the rust.

If you decide on making a CVT: First, you would have to not only reinforce the bodyshell, but also the frame(to keep the convertible body from flexing)Common sense should tell you as to where.  Second, I would soda blast, as it is FAR cheaper than acid dipping&you can do this yourself(If you know how to sandblast)
