I'm having trouble fixing/repairing the door latch mechanism on my coupe. It seems all the striker plate assemblies are built to install behind a flat door jam. My door jam is contoured for what appears to be a surface mounted striker plate. I was told this was a Outlaw Performance body but they tell me they never made a 34 3 window coupe. Here is what I have. Anybody recognize this? Any suggestions? Thanks,Bill
hmm.. this is what a 34 right side looks likelooks like the dovetails fit in the location you are working with.. dovetails keep the door from bouncing up and down also.. i could only find an image of the truck door strike..are you going to install bearclaw latches or something like that???
Yes the latches are in the door. The striker should mount to the door pillar. Where is your striker?
sorry.. i answer questions.. i don't have a 34 ford currently.. missed out on a 34 pickup many years ago.. still kicking myself over it. a friend said. make me an offer on the 34 pickup... tan and black imron with clear over it.. 3/4 race flat head.. all the goodies.. completely restored but partially taken apart to measure for a benz diesel swap. i had like 800 bucks in my pocket that day.. about that in the bank.. no where near the 5 or 6 grand that truck was worth.. he sold it to the next guy for 500 bucks.. should i post pictures of the boot marks on my rear.. try the roddingroundtable.. i will ask for some over there to have a look here also.
